Rajagiri Higher Secondary School had a humble beginning in 1964. It was established by the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI), an indigenous religious congregation of the Roman Catholic Church founded by Bl.Kuriakose Elias Chavara. Rajagiri Higher Secondary School was founded by the illustrious Fr.Francis Sales, CMI(1904-1984), the Provincial of Sacred Heart Province of Rajagiri. He is reverentially remembered for articulating, nurturing, and fostering the CMI mission of education at Rajagiri, a mission that is a continuous challenge for the present generation.
